Background: Lars (he/him) leads Environmental Defense Fund's Government Partnership team’s bilateral engagement with Sweden, Norway and the Netherlands as well as  multilateral engagement. He has a background in working in governments on environmental and climate-related issues for the past 20+ years. Before joining Environmental Defense Fund, Lars worked at the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs. During his tenure at the MFA, Lars was based at the Swedish Embassy in Washington D.C. and represented Sweden at the Board of the Green Climate Fund (GCF), as Council member at the Global Environment Fund (GEF) and as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Nordic Development Fund (NDF). He holds a Master’s in Economics and speaks Swedish and German.
